Linfield in tribute to fan Blaine Andrews after passing at 22

Linfield Football Club has paid tribute to lifelong fan Blaine Andrews following his death at the aged of 22.

Mr Andrews died on August 13 with his funeral held last Thursday. He had been a member of Linfield's Junior Blues and was a former mascot for the club.

He was the much loved son of Nicola and Billy and devoted brother of Dempsey and Brooke.

Linfield paid tribute to Mr Andrews in a statement on the club's website.

It published pictures of Blaine aged seven with Noel Bailie MBE and Glenn Ferguson.

The club said: "The deepest sympathy and most sincere condolences of everyone at Linfield FC are conveyed to the Andrews family circle at this most difficult of times.

"Donations in Blaine's memory may be sent, if desired, to Willow Foundation or N.I. Children's Hospice, c/o Kirkwoods Funeral Directors, 150a Kings Road, Belfast, BT5 7EJ."
