Lisburn shop thief dumped his clothes after armed robbery

A thief who held up a Lisburn shop dumped his clothes shortly after the armed robbery.

Police appealed for anyone who may come across the items not to touch them and instead contact detectives.

The man entered the Knockmore Road shop at around 9.40am. He threatened staff with a knife before making off with cash and other items.

Detective Sergeant McGrory added: "It is believed the man abandoned some clothing nearby shortly after the incident and we would ask anyone who may come across a red and black jacket, grey trousers or black sports bag not to touch them and contact police immediately.

“A 27-year-old man has since been arrested in relation to the incident and is currently in custody assisting us with our enquiries.  Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 256 18/01/19."
