Lithuanian held in murder probe

A Lithuanian man arrested in Co Armagh in connection with a murder in his native country has been remanded in custody.

The 37-year-old is wanted on a European Arrest Warrant by authorities in Lithuania for questioning about the death of a man in 2005.

He was arrested after an operation at a house in Causanagh Road, Loughgall, yesterday.

He appeared before Belfast Recorders Court and was remanded in custody until extradition proceedings to Lithuania start, the PSNI said.

The appeal for information to locate the suspect was featured on BBC’s Crimewatch in February.
