Local duo make top 100 women in cycling list
A Co Down woman has been named as one of Cycling UK's 100 Women in Cycling for her work as co-founder of cycling safety products company See.Sense.
Irene McAleese from Newtownards joins Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey, TV presenter Angellica Bell and triple Olympic medallist Victoria Pendleton on the charity's list for promoting women's cycling.
The list has been drawn up as part of the Women's Festival of Cycling, which has been running through July.
Also on the list is Belfast-born Eurosport presenter Orla Chennaoui.
As co-founder and chief strategy officer at See.Sense, Irene McAleese has been instrumental in bringing about a new age of innovative, intelligent cycling devices.
See.Sense lights react to rider behaviour, driver behaviour and the environment, helping to give cyclists more visibility and safety on their rides.
