Local police notes


Police are investigating a burglary which occurred sometime between 10pm on Saturday, January 30, and 9am on Sunday, January 31, in the Castlereagh Place area.

A police spokesperson said: “A number of items were taken including a KTM SX 144cc orange and black coloured motocross bike (pictured).

“The bike is quite distinctive and has the number 712 on the front. The air filter has been removed and a homemade wooden cover has been placed over the air intake. The chain of the bike was removed and the bike is fitted with a racing transponder holder.

“Cable was tied to the front forks behind the number plate.”

Police are appealing for information following an assault at the Odyssey complex. The incident occurred at around 1.20am on Monday, January 11, when a man was set upon by another male, while waiting for a taxi.

A police spokesperson said: “He sustained a serious injury and was taken by ambulance to hospital in condition which was not thought to be life threatening.”
