Londonderry writer scores e-book success

When Londonderry woman Rose McClelland found herself stuck in a rut, she formulated a ten-point plan to reinvent herself, put pen to paper and wrote her debut novel, ‘The Break Up Test’ which has just been released on ebook.

Going through a rough patch, Rose made herself a list of ten things to make her happier and when her sister thought it would make a great book idea, she began writing the very next day.

The novel tells the story of three women each in a difficult relationship, when a friend suggests they take a 10-point Break Up Test to determine whether or not their relationships are worth saving.

“Really it’s about taking a negative situation and making it a positive,” Rose told the Derry Journal, adding that when a traditional publishing deal proved elusive, she decided to take her book to approach e-publishing house Crooked Cat who quickly snapped it up.
