Lorry blocks busy street after crash in Coleraine

By Rachel Martin

A crash in Coleraine involving a lorry and a car caused traffic chaos yesterday as it blocked the town's one-way system.

It's the third collision involving Co Antrim firm McBurney Transport's fleet in two weeks.

A spokesman for the PSNI said the latest incident was reported at 11.35am yesterday.

It's understood the lorry collided with a car outside New Row Church, blocking the road.

Witnesses described traffic chaos in Coleraine and some drivers were forced to carry out U-turns on the one-way system.

It is understood no one was injured in the incident.

On October 20, one of McBurney Transport's lorries got stuck under a railway bridge in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. And just five days later, one was involved in a collision on the Ballyutoag Road, Co Antrim that saw a male driver in his 20s killed.
