Lorry damaged eight cars

A woman was arrested after a lorry crashed into eight cars before coming to a stop when it struck a wall on Sunday night, November 14.

Police were alerted to the incident shortly after 7.20pm. They received a report that a lorry — which had been parked in the Sugarfield Street area - had struck a car on the Newtownards Road before travelling along the Holywood Road, Upper Newtownards Road and Templemore Avenue.

Police also received a report of damage to vehicles at Kerrsland Crescent (three cars), two further cars on the Newtownards Road and one car at Holywood Arches as well as damage to one car and traffic lights at Frederick Street.

The lorry then struck a wall at Albertbridge Road.

A woman aged in her 40s was arrested in connection with driving offences. She was released pending enquiries.
