Lorry driver treated for injuries after serious crash

A man has been taken to hospital following a serious road collision in Co Antrim yesterday evening.

A lorry and car were involved in the crash which happened on the Belfast Road shortly after 8pm.

The lorry driver was taken to Antrim Hospital where medical staff were last night assessing his condition.

The Belfast Road was closed for several hours at the Seven Mile Straight and Ballyutoag Hill.

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service said one person was taken to hospital. Their condition was not known last night.

Meanwhile, a car flipped onto its side after a collision involving two cars in east Belfast yesterday.

An elderly woman received treatment for her injuries following the incident on the Castlereagh Road.
