Lotto chiefs appeal to Co Down winner of unclaimed £304,603 prize

By Michelle Smyth

It could be you... if you bought a Lottery ticket in Co Down at the end of last month, that is.

People are being urged to throw their minds back to July 30, because a forgotten-about winning lottery ticket could well change their lives.

The impressive jackpot prize of £304,603 is yet to be claimed and customers who bought a ticket in Co Down at the end of last month are encouraged to double-check their tickets to see if they are the lucky winner who matched all six main numbers.

The winning Lotto numbers for the Wednesday night draw were 2, 5, 11, 22, 24 and 42 and the ticket-holder has until January 15 next year to claim their prize. If nobody comes forward before then, the money and the interest it generated will go to National Lottery Good Causes which has so far boosted almost 20,000 projects in Northern Ireland to the tune of £1bn.

A spokesman for the National Lottery said it was keen to find the "mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings.

"Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa; someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune," he said. If you think it's you, call 0845 910 0000.
