Loyalist gun victim celebrates success

By Rebecca Black

A prominent victims campaigner who was shot by the UFF in 1994 will graduate today with a masters in Conflict Transformation from the Senator George J Mitchell Institute at Queen's University, Belfast.

Paul Gallagher from the city - who was badly injured in the brutal attack when he was just 21 - has dedicated his life to campaigning for Troubles victims.

Paul said: "I feel a great sense of achievement having completed this Master's with distinction in what has been a very busy year, having got married last October, and I am very much looking forward to celebrating my graduation."

He is now working towards a PhD at Queen's, focusing his research on the Injured Pension Campaign for those who were seriously injured in the Troubles.
