Lurgan mother threatened by armed burglars

Two burglars armed with a knife and a gun threatened a woman who was at home with two young children.

The aggravated burglary at the house in the Ashwood area of Lurgan was reported to police early yesterday.

Shortly after midnight the two armed men entered the house and threatened the female occupant. Two youngsters were in the house at the time.

The men searched the property and stole a number of items before making off on foot.

The first man is described as being in his early 20s, around 5ft 11ins tall, of thin build. He was wearing a peach-coloured jumper and carrying a knife.

The second man, who had the gun, is described as being in his late 20s, around 5ft 6ins and of stocky build.

The woman and children were left badly shaken.

Detectives ask for anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them in CID at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101, or contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
