Lynda Bryans 'not permitted' to talk about picture of hubby Mike Nesbitt face down on hotel floor

By Luke Byrne

Former UTV broadcaster Lynda Bryans is keeping tight-lipped about a photo of her husband sprawled across a hotel lobby's carpet - saying she is 'not permitted' to talk about it.

Former Ulster Unionist leader Mike Nesbitt said the photo was "only a bit of fun". The picture showed Mr Nesbitt lying face down in the lobby of the Stormont Hotel with Marie Hyland, a woman in her 70s from west Belfast, standing over him.

Ms Hyland said it was a joke that had been blown out of proportion.

While the picture has been doing the rounds since it was first published last week, Mr Nesbitt's wife, media expert Ms Bryans, has remained silent. When contacted yesterday, Ms Bryans (55) declined to comment about the photo of her husband, with whom she has two children.

"I'm sorry I can't say anything. I'm not permitted," she said.
