Male pedestrian (78) dies after collision near Hillsborough

A 78-year-old male pedestrian has died following a crash near Hillsborough.

It happened on the Glebe Road at Annahilt on Tuesday night.

The collision, involving the pedestrian and a red Volvo C30 car occurred on the Glebe Road between its junctions with Glebe Manor and the Carricknadarriff Road at around 8.45pm.

The driver has been spoken to by police.

The Glebe Road has been closed in both directions at its junction with the Ballykeel Road.

Sergeant Jonny MacKenzie has asked for anyone who was travelling on the Glebe Road and witnessed the collision or saw the car or pedestrian in the area to contact officers at Lisburn on 101 quoting reference number 1347 21/11/17.
