The PSNI is investigating the serious sexual assault of a woman in the Upper Malone Road area of South Belfast on Wednesday 16 September.

The woman, aged in her 20’s, was assaulted by a male as she walked along a path leading from the Upper Malone Road to Ramore Park at around 10.30pm.

The male was described as being around 5’10” tall, in his late teens, of thin build and was wearing a dark coloured hooded top.

Detectives from the PSNI Rape Crime Unit are investigating the attack.

Detective Sergeant Gary Chambers said: "We are very keen to identify the male responsible for this attack and we intend to revisit the site of the assault to speak with passers-by who may have been in the area on the 16th September and who may have noticed suspicious activity. We will revisit the scene between 9pm and 11pm today, Wednesday 14th October.”

Detective Sergeant Chambers added: "I would appeal to anyone who has any information which could assist us with our enquiries to contact detectives at the Rape Crime Unit at Ladas Drive on 101."

Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
