Man (18) shot in leg in west Belfast fast food shop

A man has been shot in the leg in a fast food shop in west Belfast.

Detectives are appealing for information following the incident on the Falls Road on Thursday December 18.

Shortly after 9pm it was reported that three masked men entered a fast food shop close to the junction of Falls Road and Thames Street.

They went to the back of the building where they shot the 18-year-old man twice in the right leg.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The three men were described as being dressed in black and wearing balaclavas. They made off on foot along Thames Street.

Detective Inspector Jenna Fitzpatrick appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact CID at Woodbourne Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
