Man (18) suffers serious leg injuries after gang attack in north Belfast alleyway

An 18-year-old man has been assaulted in an alleyway in north Belfast.

It happened between the Ballysillan Road and the Ardoyne Road on Wednesday night.

Shortly after 11pm the man was attacked by three men in an alleyway. One of the men was wearing checked shorts, a baseball cap and glasses.

The 18-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his leg.

Detective Constable Arnott said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this assault to contact police at Tennent Street on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1558 of the 03/05/17.

"Or alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
