Man (20) arrested over assault at Belsonic's Martin Garrix gig

Police in Belfast have asked for anyone who may have witnessed an assault in the city on Monday evening to come forward.

It is understood that the incident happened at a concert by Dutch DJ Martin Garrix as part of Belsonic 2017 being held in the Ormeau embankment area of South Belfast.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday morning.

Speaking about the arrest, the PSNI's Chief Inspector Gavin Kirkpatrick appealed for the public to come forward to assist with their investigation.

"While we have arrested a male who is currently helping with our enquiries, I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have any information about it, to contact police," he said.

Anyone with any information about the crime can contact police on the non-emergency number 101 and quote reference number 1438 of 21 June 2017.

Members of the public can also give information anonymously by contacting independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
