Man (24) held over Lurgan murder

By Lesley Houston

Police have arrested a 24-year-old man after the murder of a man in Lurgan.

The arrest came yesterday after detectives confirmed they were now treating the death of 34-year-old Marcell Seeley as murder.

He was found in his ground floor flat in Dingwell Park, Taghnaven, at about lunchtime on Tuesday.

It is understood Mr Seeley's body had lain in the flat for a number of days and that his mother discovered him.

Locals said he was well-known and had a troubled background.

Detective Chief Inspector Eamon Corrigan has appealed for witnesses to contact detectives at Mahon Road on the PSNI's non-emergency 101 number. They want to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual in Dingwell Park in recent days.
