Man (27) arrested over immigration crime as part of UK-wide police operation

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Belfast in relation to organised immigration crime.

It follows searches of two properties in south Belfast, with a number of items also being seized for further examination.

Detective Inspector  Pete Mullan says "Today's [Wednesday] joint  operation with our colleagues from Northumbria Police, and Immigration Enforcement,  demonstrates the PSNIs commitment to keeping people safe by tackling organised criminality."

The man has been bailed pending further investigation.
