Man (27) due in court on drug and immigration offences

A 27-year-old man charged with drug and immigration offences is due in Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday.

This follows a joint operation between the PSNI and the Home Office.

The man has been charged with a number of drug and immigration offences, including possession of a Class B drug, intent to supply, possession of criminal property and failing to leave the UK.

As is standard practice, the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Detective Inspector David Henderson of the Organised Crime Branch said: "This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackling the scourge of drugs in our society.

"We would encourage anyone with information which may assist police in combating the sale and distribution of illegal drugs to contact police on 101.

"Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
