A 29-year-old man has been charged after two searches of properties in the Mid Ulster area earlier today.

Detectives from Organised Crime Branch conducted two pre-planned searches of properties in the area on Saturday morning.

During the searches, a number of items were seized, which police said have been taken away for examination.

The man was arrested on suspicion of offences including being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of criminal property.

He is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on Monday, July 5.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Today’s searches are in relation to the seizure of a significant amount of suspected Class A drugs in the Mid Ulster area in January 2021 with an estimated street value of £360,000.
