A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Portstewart in June.
The 32-year-old was arrested yesterday evening in connection with the murder of Margaret ‘Margo’ Evans who was found dead at her home in Knockancor Drive on June 4.
He has also been charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
Mrs Evans (69) was well known in the Portstewart area as a hairdresser.
The mother-of-three owned a salon called Madame Margo’s Hair Design. It is thought she had recently retired, but may have still been carrying out hairdressing work part-time.
The man is due to appear in Coleraine Magistrates Court this morning.
