Police have charged a 35-year-old man in connection with a series of burglaries carried out on Christmas Eve in Northern Ireland.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning on three counts of burglary with intent to steal.

It relates to the burglaries of commercial premises in the Newtownabbey and Belfast on Sunday, December 24.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
