Man (35) released following questioning by police in relation to New IRA activity in Derry

A 35-year-old man arrested on Thursday by the PSNI in connection with an investigation into the New IRA in Londonderry has been released.

Police said the man was questioned by detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit investigating the activities of the terror group in the city.

The initial arrest was in connection with four assaults involving firearms in Derry in January and February this year.

Police said the investigating remains ongoing.
