A 39-year-old man has been extradited from France to Northern Ireland on Wednesday linked to a number of keyless car thefts, police have confirmed.

The PSNI said the extradition was in conjunction with the National Crime Agency, after the man had been arrested in France under a European Arrest Warrant.

The man had initially been charged in May 2020 linked to a number of offences including  conspiracy to steal, going equipped to steal and handling stolen goods in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon area.

However he breached Crown Court bail before being apprehended in France.

PSNI Chief Inspector Fox said: “This arrest shows our determination and commitment to work with international law enforcement partners to ensure wanted fugitives are tracked down, apprehended and brought to justice.”
