Man (40) arrested over Greenvale Hotel deaths released from custody pending report to PPS

A 40-year-old man arrested by detectives investigating the deaths of three teenagers at the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown has been released.

Lauren Bullock, 17, Connor Currie, 16, and Morgan Barnard, 17, all from nearby Dungannon in Co Tyrone, died after a crush outside the hotel on St Patrick's Day. 

Two people were arrested over the incident. Michael McElhatton, 52, who owns the hotel, and a 40-year-old man, understood to be a member of the hotel's door staff.

On Thursday evening police said a 40-year-old man arrested by detectives investigating the teenagers deaths had been released from custody pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

Up to 400 people were present as the tragedy unfolded, and detectives said it was fortunate more were not killed.

It is understood the victims were trampled underfoot as they waited to enter the disco.
