A man has been charged with theft after a flag was removed from a fence in Twaddell Avenue.

Shortly after 5.15pm on Sunday March 1 police received a report that a number of males, described as wearing hoodies, removed a flag from a fence in the Twaddell Avenue area of north Belfast.

A passing police patrol responded and a 41-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged with theft.

The man is scheduled to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on March 27, 2015

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
