Man (49) is charged with abuse of two young boys
A 49-year-old man appeared at Belfast Crown Court yesterday accused of sexually abusing two young boys.
Gavin Cuthbert, formerly of east Belfast, but whose address was given as HMP Maghaberry, was charged with 17 offences from June 2011 to April 2018.
Cuthbert was charged with a total of eight offences against a complainant who is now 18.
He was charged with four separate counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity between April 25, 2014 and April 10, 2018. To these, he replied: "Guilty."
When a further four charges of sexual assault against the same complainant were put to Cuthbert, he replied: "Not guilty." He denied intentionally touching the youngster in a sexual manner between the same dates.
The accused, who appeared in court on a crutch, was also charged with abusing a second male child, and again admitted some charges but denied others.
In total Cuthbert admitted seven offences and denied 10.
No date was set for trial and the case was relisted for review on September 3.
