Man admits to making kill threats

A 50-year-old man has pleaded guilty at the Magistrates Court in Londonderry to making threats to kill a man to two SDLP politicians.

Martin White, from Linsfort Drive in the Creggan area of the city, made the threats to MLA Colum Eastwood and also to councillor Shaun Gallagher on May 27 of last year. He made a further threat to kill the same man to a local journalist.

White also admitted making three further threats to kill the same man last November 7, and he additionally pleaded guilty to attempting to force the victim from his home by use of threats.

Sentencing was adjourned until September 6 to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report and White was released on continuing bail until then.
