Man and woman arrested following social media posts during band parade - ATO examining items

Police have confirmed that they have arrested two people after investigating social media posts believed to have been made during a Randalstown band parade.

A 35-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were arrested, and police conducted a search of a house in the Station Road area of Randalstown, on Monday July 9.

The pair have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences and have been taken into custody for questioning.

A number of suspicious items have been located by officers as a result of the search at the scene and Station Road has been cordoned off to allow Army Technical Officers to fully examine the items.

There are no further details at present.
