Man and woman threatened in Finaghy car hijacking

A man and woman have been threatened in a car hijacking in south Belfast.

The victims, aged in their 20s, were sitting in a blue Citroen C3 at about 12.40am on Thursday in Orpen Road, Finaghy when  they were approached by an unknown male .

He threatened them before driving off in the car. It was found in the Glenwood Green area of Dunmurry a short time later.

The suspect is described as being aged in his 40s, approximately 5’10” tall and of medium build. He was wearing a red and white checked shirt and blue jeans.

The man and woman were not injured.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Reid is appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
