Man armed with a hammer threatens staff during attempted robbery

A man armed with a hammer has threatened two members of staff during an attempted robbery outside Belfast.

It happened on the Mill Road at around on Friday night.

At around 8.15pm one man entered a shop before grabbing a male member of staff before demanding to know where the safe was kept.

He then threatened a female member of staff, before making off empty handed.

The staff were unhurt, but left shaken.

He is described as being approximately 6 feet tall, with a shaved head and was wearing a dark coloured top, dark bottoms with white stripe and grey trainers.

Police have appealed for information.
