Man armed with machete robs customer at Belfast bank

A man armed with a machete has robbed a customer at a bank in Belfast.

The attack happened at around 9.40am on Monday morning at an Ulster Bank branch on the Shankill Road.

He then made off towards the city in a silver coloured car.

He is said to be around 5' 9" tall and of stocky build.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

A spokesman for the Ulster Bank said no-one was hurt in the incident.

"Ulster Bank can confirm an incident took place this morning at our Shankill Road branch. The PSNI are currently investigating this matter and we are liaising closely with them.
