Man arrested after cocaine worth £8,000 seized in Omagh

A 36-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of a number of drug offences.

The arrest follows the search of a vehicle in Omagh on Wednesday afternoon.

Detective Inspector Sean Taylor said: "Cocaine with an estimated street value of £8,000 was seized after police stopped a Citroen Berlingo on the Curr Road around 2.40pm this afternoon.

“The PSNI is committed to making Northern Ireland a hostile environment for those in our community who are involved in serious drug crimes. We will seek to identify them, arrest them and place them before the courts.

“Anyone with any information about drugs or any illegal activity should contact police by calling 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
