Man arrested after police search in west Belfast

A 42-year-old man has been arrested during a police search in west Belfast.

The search took place on Monday at an address in Moyard Crescent where army bomb experts examined a suspicious object.

Detective Inspector White said: "A number of items have been seized by police following the search and they have been taken for further forensic examination."

A number of houses in the area were evacuated during the operation.

"All residents have now been allowed back into their homes," Detective Inspector White said.

The 42-year-old man was arrested under Section 41 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

He was later released unconditionally.
