Man arrested after south Belfast burglaries

A 21-year-old man has been arrested following a series of burglaries in south Belfast.

Houses on Galwally Avenue and Church Road were targeted in the early hours of Friday morning after sheds, outhouses and a car were broken into.

A number of items were stolen.

The man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including theft, burglary and disorderly behaviour and remains in custody.

"Detectives would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Galwally Avenue and Church Road areas between 5am and 8am on Friday morning or anyone with any information which could assist with their enquiries to contact them at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 227 13/09/19," said a police spokesperson.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
