Man arrested during anti-human trafficking inquiry

A man aged 33 has been arrested in South Armagh as part of a major human trafficking investigation.

The suspect was detained in Newtownhamilton on suspicion of trafficking for securing services between the start of this year and last month, money laundering, fraud and gangmaster offences, PSNI detective inspector Mark Bell said.

The arrest follows an operation against human trafficking for labour exploitation when officers rescued 16 victims working in agriculture in South Armagh on July 17.
