A 55-year-old man has been arrested by detectives investigating dissident terrorist activity in Londonderry.

He was arrested in the Creggan area on Monday morning and taken to the Serious Crime Suite in Antrim for questioning.

Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes said: "The suspect was arrested in the Creggan area of the city this morning and has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning."

Two properties were searched during the operation.
