Man arrested in murder bid probe after head lacerations suffered by victim

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man sustained head injuries in east Belfast.

The 39-year-old victim suffered lacerations to his head and cuts to his hands. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said the incident unfolded during a disturbance in the Lendrick Street area around 8.30am on Sunday.

Officers forced entry to a property on the street and arrested the 47-year-old suspect.

The PSNI has urged anyone with information to come forward.
