Man arrested in pipe bombs probe

A man in his 40s has been arrested by detectives investigating pipe bomb alerts in the Antrim area.

It follows a search of a house in the Randalstown area.

Earlier this month an eight-year-old boy picked up a pipe bomb in the playground at St Comgall's Primary School in Antrim.

A device was also left close to a primary school in the nearby village of Crumlin.

About 170 pupils were moved to a community centre after the device was found outside an unmanned police station opposite Crumlin Integrated Primary.

About 30 families living in nearby Mill Road also had to leave their homes.
