Man arrested in police Derry dissident republican probe released without charge
A 21-year-old man arrested as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity in Londonderry has been released without charge.
The probe is linked to a paramilitary-style assault in the city on June 7, when a youth was found with puncture wounds to his shins on the Hollyhall Road.
The assault took place during disorder in the city following the funeral of 18-year-old Caoimhin Cassidy, who died when the stolen car he was in crashed and caught fire on June 1.
Masked men also smashed up a house in Creggan and there was reports of masked men patrolling the area.
Detectives detained the 21-year-old man under the Terrorism Act on Thursday following the search of house in the Creggan area. He was released without charge on Thursday evening.
