Man arrested on suspicion of arson at shop in Belfast city centre
The incident took place in the Donegall Street area
A 36-year-old man has been arrested in Belfast on Monday on suspicion of arson with intent at a shop in the city centre.
The charges are in relation to an incident at a shop in the Donegall Street area on Friday, February 23.
The man is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
At the time of the incident police received a report of a man entering a premises, pouring out a flammable substance, and then setting it alight.
The suspect then made off on foot.
Three people were in the store at the time of the incident.
Although no one was injured, all three were left badly shaken.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire.
