A 42-year-old man arrested by detectives investigating the attempted murder of police in Londonderry last year has been released unconditionally.

On July 11, 2018, it was reported that shots were fired at officers at the City Walls during rioting.

The man was detained under the Terrorism Act on Monday. He was also arrested in connection with the seizure of fireworks in the city in October last year.

A report will be forwarded to the PPS in relation to the firework offences.
