A 40-year-old man arrested by detectives investigating the attempted murder of a police officer at Shandon Park in east Belfast has been released unconditionally.

Officers from the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit arrested the man in north Belfast on Saturday morning.

He was taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave for questioning.

It is understood the device was planted by members of the so-called New IRA outside the senior officer's home but was only spotted at Shandon Park Golf Club on Saturday June 1.
