Man arrested over Co Antrim cannabis factory

Police have arrested a 36-year-old man after discovering a cannabis factory in a Co Antrim house.

Officers from D District's Crime Team searched the house in Muckamore on Friday morning, where they seized cannabis plants with an estimated value of £13-15,000.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug, possession of a class B drug with intent to supply and being concerned in the production of a class B controlled drug.

Area Commander for Antrim, Chief Inspector Natalie Wilson, said: "Drugs misuse is an issue of concern to all communities. This drug search and arrest shows that we continue to work hard to tackle the issue of drug supply and distribution in the Antrim area.

"I am glad to have taken these drugs out of circulation but would continue to encourage the community to work with us to put the issue of drugs on the back foot."
