Man arrested over Derry shooting

A 26-year-old has been arrested in the Creggan Heights area of Londonderry in connection with a shooting incident in January.

The arrest is in relation to a shooting incident at a house in the Ballymagowan area on Thursday, January 5.

A man and a woman were inside the house in Ballymagowan Avenue when the shots were fired. While neither were injured they were left in a state of shock and fled the house.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Branch made the arrest on Friday morning along with two further arrests into ongoing dissident republican activity in the Creggan Heights area.

The men, aged 32 and 40 years have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite where they are helping police with their enquiries.
