Man arrested over murder bid at Antrim bar

A man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault at a bar in Doagh in Co Antrim.

He was arrested in the Ballyclare area and is being held on suspicion of attempted murder.

The incident happened at McConnell's bar on Main Street in Doagh on Wednesday 15 March.

A group of men armed with hammers and baseball bats entered the pub and attacked a man before driving off in waiting cars. The victim, who was in 40s, was left seriously injured and needed hospital treatment.

The 19-year-old has been taken to Antrim Police Station for questioning.
