Man arrested over murder of prison officer Adrian Ismay

Detectives investigating the murder of prison officer Adrian Ismay have arrested a 40-year-old man

The man was arrested on Monday February 6.

Mr Ismay (52) suffered serious leg injuries when a booby-trap bomb exploded under the van he was driving in east Belfast last March.

He had been recovering, but died following a return to hospital 11 days later.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Boyce said: “Detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch investigating the murder of Prison Officer Adrian Ismay this morning arrested a 40 year old man.

"He has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.”
