Man arrested over spate of Belfast home attacks released

By Staff Reporter

Police arrested a 26-year-old man in connection to the recent spate of attacks on homes in north Belfast yesterday.

Last week a number of residents in Ballysillan Avenue were forced to leave their homes after properties were targeted in suspected intimidation incidents.

The male was arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage on Friday morning after officers carried out a search of a house in the same street.

Chief Inspector Kelly Moore said the individual was assisting with enquiries. He was later released on police bail pending further investigation.

"Local officers and Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have been carrying out an extensive investigation into the recent incidents in this area and I would like to reassure the local community that we will do all in our power to ensure that anyone involved will be brought before the courts," the officer added.

"Anyone with any information should contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
